Development Team Leader

Giv’atayim, Tel Aviv District, Israel

Part of WhiteSource’s mission is to protect companies’ software supply chain. Our vision is to provide the easiest and most accurate way of adding security processes to your platform. 

We are looking for a hands-on Ruby Team Leader to join our Open Source Supply Chain team, working on our detection platform that allows the analysis of data coming from the open-source software realm. Working together with a small but influential team, you will have a significant impact on the product shape. This role is a great opportunity for people seeking creativity and impactfulness in their work.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby and Ruby on Rails code
  • Lead a team of experienced Software Engineers
  • Design and develop backend solutions and APIs
  • Write unit and functional automation tests
  • Maintain and troubleshoot production applications codebase
  • Write implementations of algorithms and solutions designed by our Security Research Team
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in system interfaces


Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience managing a team of 3 software developers
  • +5 years of experience as a software engineer
  • 5 years experience with SQL backend, preferably PostgreSQL
  • Ability to take tasks from requirements to deployment quickly and independently
  • Ability to work within distributed, multidisciplinary teams
  • Design and build scalable, high-availability mission-critical systems and APIs
  • Experience with test-driven development.
