Backend Team Leader

Giv’atayim, Tel Aviv District, Israel

WhiteSource, the leading provider of Open Source management solutions, is seeking for a Backend team leader who will lead the core team (under the Application group) and is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming. The core team is a backend oriented team which will be responsible for various tasks such as handling the backbone of core application processes, complex data migrations or maintaining the application existing codebase with scalability and performance in mind.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead an agile team of software engineers towards making a robust multi-tenant SaaS application
  • Develop, maintain and test production level application code
  • Deliver features end-to-end taking full ownership and managing the whole software development lifecycles, from design to release
  • Tackle the challenges and opportunities that come with a large scale and very rapidly growing system
  • Working closely with the product, QA and support teams and act as the “Scrum Master” 
  • Collaborate with other development teams on cross-team features

Desired skills : 

  • At least 4 years of Backend programming experience (preferably Java) – Must
  • 2+ years of experience of managing software engineers- Must
  • Great engineering skills with a strong background in software architecture
  • A can-do attitude and motivational skills
  • Proficiency in large scale Databases serving many customers
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and influencing skills
  • Team player, can-do attitude and a quick learner
  • Excellent English
